Jane’s love of interiors began early, shaped by her father’s eye for design and her own appreciation for homes that feel both beautiful and lived in. That early influence helped form her belief that great design is not only about how a room looks, but how it feels and functions for the people who use it.

Before founding her design studio, Jane built a strong business foundation that still shapes the way she leads projects today. Her background in business gave her a practical understanding of organization, communication, and decision-making, while her creative instincts continued to pull her toward interiors, materials, and residential design.

In the 2010s, Jane joined her husband, Kevin Barnes, in his construction business, BB&R Design-Build. That partnership gave her a deeper understanding of how design and construction work together, especially during kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, cabinetry planning, and larger home renovations. Jane also strengthened her design education through the Rhode Island School of Design.

Today, Jane Barnes Interiors works with homeowners across Massachusetts to create interiors that feel thoughtful, functional, and personal. Jane’s process brings together design direction, material selections, furnishings, lighting, window treatments, color, and construction-aware planning. Her work is rooted in the belief that the best homes are not just beautiful, but deeply connected to the people who live in them.
